Quarter of consumers want brand information via Facebook

A survey by digital consultancy Beyond has suggested that 25% of consumers want to receive their brand information via Facebook.  We all know that these surveys can be used to in various ways to promote different motives, it has made me think whether this massive 25% figure can be true.  You can easily find this story on numerous websites and I'm not even going to provide a link.  A slighty more realistic figure as far as I'm concerned is the 43% who admit to following a brand via Facebook.  After all want does following mean.  I like loads of stuff on Facebook and it could be said that I follow stuff, but does it mean I "prefer" to see brand information via FB as opposed to directly from the brand's website.  No, it's not exactly hard to "instant" search a brand and I for one am not retricted in some kind of virtual bubble to stay within the realm of facebook.

I would really love to hear your views on this subject and also how you think this will play out in the nea future.

I always see these studies and add in the words, "Because it's the least of all possible evils to me." Folks do not necessarily "prefer" FB, as much as when taking a survey, with all things being equal, this was the best choice. But they'll still ignore you. LOL
