I made my way to the front of the line for this next interview, because people at the front obviously display the most motivation.
What was interesting about this group of guys, though, was their complete disregard for the Old Navy brand. They were here for a discounted game. And even a crappy $20 clothing purchase for them was better than spending $50 on a game.
Even more surprising was that they admitted they never would have purchased this game had this promotion not come about. Yet here they were, sitting in the cold, waiting to buy clothes they didn't want for a game they hadn't considered buying previously.
They talked at length about their bafflement about this offer and the disconnect between the brands of the game and the store, but in hindsight I think they beautifully articulate what the promotion was all about. Take a listen and see what you think:
