Let no one question my dedication. Not a family wedding, a vacation, fender benders or anything else can keep me from putting out a show.

This episode was a blast. And in a lot of ways it was better than normal because everywhere — even Cape May, NJ — has a better Internet connection that me with my lousy Time Warner service in Greensboro.

So please enjoy. As for me, I'm going to enjoy my fleeting moments of respite.

And as usual, I'd love to have you as a Twitter follower. I'm TheBeanCast. Thanks for listening and please add a positive review to iTunes if you like the show.

I think its better for me to respond to the show that give input before. The way the discussion often unfolds is that it happens in ways different than I expect.

Great show!

Just a quick thought on the Postal Service discussion.

1] I think it's existence is because they want to guarantee rural people can get mail delivered with reasonable cost. Kind of like insurance spreading the cost. And if it was 100% privatized those folks could get priced out of the market for service. Not sure if that is an unreasonable view but farmers especially big huge farms and ranches have way more clout than their population should in Washington (or their % of GDP)

2] Direct Marketers: I don't believe they have an inalienable right to exist. We have so many industries that technology or other reasons change leading to loss of jobs that we do not blink an eye. I don't think many of us marched in protest when the sweater factory was moved to china so Walmart can sell us cheap Sweaters. DM's will just find another way to reach people. Like Spam mail to IPads I think is a great idea. Maybe every time you turn on your IPad you have 15 pages of Direct mail you must read before you can use the device
In reality it will just cost more and they will have to come up with new ways for this. And hopefully it will save a lot of trees. Isn't email and digital ads a form of DM anyway?
