We just did a show on mobile and the next week brought us face-to-face with it's true power in the face of tragedy.

As the world watched the terrible events unfolding in Haiti, the message started to get out that there was a simple way for all of us to help. We could text a string of numbers — 90999. And, if we messaged this number with the word "HAITI," we could automatically donate $10. It was that easy. We didn't even have to take out our credit cards.

This mobilization (forgive the pun) was unprecedented, giving us a real glimpse of how mobile-phone focused we have become as a society. It also gave us a fascinating topic to discuss and one you'll definitely want to hear.
