Any week when Costco is a bona fide news topic is a great week for the show. I got to blog about it this week and talk about it on the show! Twofer!
But then add to this awesomeness these three terrific guests, and you can understand why I am so excited. Their insights on the state of digital marketing were outstanding, as we came back again and again to the subject throughout the show. Get ready to take some notes on this one!
And while you're listening, please takes some time to add me on your Twitter profile. I'm TheBeanCast. As always, thanks for listening and please add a positive review to iTunes if you like the show.
Thanks for a great conversation. The discussion around successful campaigns was thought provoking. The point about Apple not being engaged in the conversation rings true, but I wonder if they're listening in. I'm thinking of complaints that surfaced less then two years about Apple computers harming the environment and contributing to a specific child labor issue where children in Asia were stripping used computers with their bare hands for reusable metals with caustic chemicals. Apple listened and did something about it. Maybe they're more engaged in the conversation then it seems. Who knows? Apple is well known for their secrecy. In such a transparent market, it's hard to reconcile such a company's opaqueness with success and responsive products.
There's no doubt that they listen. I think it's more that they refuse to engage that fascinates me. It's like the boss who takes in all your ideas, then turns around and say, "I have great idea, let's do this!" and it's exactly what you just suggested.
The continue to get away with it though, so it's hard to fault their strategy.
