I finally got my chance to talk about PR sometimes forgetting the basics!

For those of you who follow the blog, you know that about a month ago I was all in a stir about a This Week in Tech podcast that I heard, that discussed the issue of PR reps paying more attention to "relationships" at the expense of the fact. The conversation was near and dear to my heart and it inspired me to contact one of the participants and ask her to be on my show. She accepted, I added two of the smartest people I know in the space, and the rest is the program you're about to listen to. Hope you enjoy.

As usual, I remind you to add me on your Twitter profile for all the latest BeanCast news, as well as my random witticisms. I'm TheBeanCast. As always, thanks for listening and please add a positive review to iTunes if you like the show.

Great show, great guests...great comments. Working in the Behavioral Targeting field, I enjoyed the conversation about public/private/personal etc. Bob, you're comment about privacy and ads is spot on...taking away the data to make ads more relevant won't decrease the amount of ads...only make them more irrelevant than ever. Don't know if you have a podcast yet tackling that issue, but I'd love to hear you and your guests thoughts on the matter. All the best - Eric

Thanks for the comment, but I can't really take credit. Scott Monty first said it on my program back in October of last year I think. Not really sure of the exact show, but it's always stuck with me and I was just reflecting it back to him. But it is a powerful statement on our obsession with privacy in this country. Somethings definitely need to be protected, but I like marketers to know my movie preferences and what clothes I buy. It saves me time and makes my life easier. Why is this bad?

Anyway, thanks for listening!
