BeanCast Special 1: 2009 Outtakes Special

The request I've gotten more than any other by both guests and listeners has been for an uncensored outtakes show. People seem to really like the idea of hearing what was said off-the-record. And luckily, I always record that part too. ;)

So with the permission of my guests and a lot of good humor, we're proud to offer you the funniest outtakes we've captured over the last 12 months. So far everyone who's heard it has let me know what a blast it is, and I hope you enjoy it as well. Thanks for listening and here's to an even bigger, better 2010 slate of BeanCast shows.

I love it when guests carry my tired butt.

Last minute changes to the lineup, as well as the excitement of preparing our new sponsor's copy, left me slightly distracted by the top of this week's show. But my guests, as usual, rose to the occasion, delivered a stellar performance and got us right on track. Truly a great episode.

And since I mentioned our new sponsor, we're very pleased to add The You Conference L.A. to the show this week. We'll be promoting the event for a little over a month and we hope you'll check out their website atwww.theyouconference.com. Remember, BeanCast listeners are also entitled to $50 off registration when you use the discount code UConferenceLA.

I had some good advice from Bill Green before I recorded this show. He said, "You have great guests. Just let them talk."

Wiser words could not have been said about this group. They were animated and interesting from the very beginning. And with the exception of Peter multitasking and watching The Simpsons at the same time, they were mostly focused as well. (Had to get you on that one, Peter.)

So enjoy the show. And please remember to add me to your Twitter profile if you haven't done so already. I'm TheBeanCast. As always, thanks for listening and please add a positive review to iTunes if you like the show.

Every once in a while, your humble host of The BeanCast has the wind knocked out of him and is just plain not up to doing a show. And that's always when it seems like I get amazing content like this episode that totally recharges me.

The conversation was rich and full of interesting and enlightening tidbits that really got me thinking. The group this week played off each other brilliantly and I think you'll have a good time with it. So enjoy. And to our U.S. listeners, please have a happy and safe Thanksgiving.

It's been a busy-kind-of-expose-poor-conclusions-in-a-spun-report kind of week.

Yes, I know most reports and studies we see are probably biased if not pure fiction. But this week put perspective on just how systematic the process is of generating a report to fit predetermined conclusions. And it was fascinating to get such great perspective on the subject from this awesome panel of guests. So listen and get clued in with some powerful insights.

Enjoy the show. And please add me to your Twitter profile. I'm TheBeanCast. As always, thanks for listening and please add a positive review to iTunes if you like the show.

Despite the fact that half my panel was up in the middle of the night to record this show, the discussion was anything but tired. (See what I did there? Pretty clever, right?)

I'm running out of superlatives for my shows. Each one is like a little island of sanity for me these days. So if I go with that metaphor, this island was like the one from Lost — full of intrigue and suspense.

Okay, maybe more like Gilligan's Island. But the whole lost on a desert island thing still applies.

And as usual, we went to places we never intended with some awesome insights. But one thing I swear I've finally learned: Never throw the first question up without directing it to somebody. You'd think after all the times I've done that and have been met by silence, I would realize that it just doesn't work.

And speaking of Twitter...okay, I didn't speak of Twitter. But if I had, I would ask you to add me to your Twitter profile. I'm TheBeanCast. As always, thanks for listening and please add a positive review to iTunes if you like the show.

I got all the way through the show before it hit me just how much of a powerhouse lineup we had on the program tonight. I mean I knew these guys were big names, but every once in a while I get a flash of perspective and realize just how cool having this show can be.

With this group it was a complete treat to be a host. They were all sharp talkers who knew the subjects well and provided energetic debate on the subjects at hand. I could barely get a word in edgewise. Like I said on Twitter earlier, if you don't listen to this episode I'll have to personally come out and smack you.

And speaking of Twitter, add me to your Twitter profile. I'm TheBeanCast. As always, thanks for listening and please add a positive review to iTunes if you like the show.
